With the sweater on, place a piece of tape about half an inch below the elbow. Do the same with the opposite elbow. Remove the sweater and insert the foam block into one of the sleeves.
Align and center the bottom of the ****** cutter along the top of the tape. Pinch off a few tufts of wool roving.
Fill the cutter, spreading out the wool fibers evenly.
At the base of all felting needles are tiny, sharp burrs, which grab and interlock the wool fibers. While holding the needle vertically, repeatedly stab it into the wool roving and through the sweater. I found it easier to work around the outer perimeter of the cutter first and then work my way inwards. Important tip: To prevent breaking the needle, always keep the needle upright and never at an angle. And don’t forget to pay careful attention to your fingers while felting as the needle is extremely sharp. Honestly.
Continue stabbing away until the surface is flat and even. Fun, right?!
Remove the cutter and use the tip of the needle to reign in any stray fibers, if necessary. Don’t worry about the holes as they will be mended later.
Patch up any bare or uneven spots by adding more wool roving where needed.
Carefully peel the sweater away from the foam. Notice that the fibers have transferred through to the backside of the sweater.
To smooth and set the patch, spritz with water and press with an iron on the wool setting.
Repeat the same steps the other sleeve.
Ta da! Your heart shaped elbow patches are finished!

You’ll need:

Start by taping the edges of the shoes, covering the rubber soles. Cover both toes with tape as this is where the rhinestones will be glued on later. (Click images to enlarge)
Add one part course glitter to two parts Mod Podge into a small plastic cup or tray.
Stir the mixture thoroughly with a paintbrush. The consistency should be rather thick but not pasty. Apply a layer of the glitter mixture to the shoe. Allow to dry for 10-15 minutes and add a second and third layer until hardly any white space is showing. Use an exacto knife or the edge of your fingernail to scrape off any glitter that might have dried onto the grommets or soles.
Remove the tape. Using adhesive, glue the rhinestones on the toe in any pattern.
Sport your new Miu Miu inspired glittery sneakers with or without laces!
Don’t forget to leave a comment for your chance to DIY your own pair of Canvas Authentic or Slip-On Vans! (Sorry, limited to US & Canada residents only. Winner will be announced and contacted by email on Friday, September 9th. Good luck! xx) **Contest is now closed. Vans was kind enough to giveaway two pairs of Vans, so congrats to Rebekkah & Camille!

You’ll need:

Start by attaching the chain to the outer edge of the pom pom trim with the jump rings. If you are using cable chain, connect a jump ring through every other link. If you are using cable chain, connect a jump ring though each link.
Once the entire length of the chain is attached to the pom pom trim, thread the cord through each jump ring.
Pick up each end of the cord and the chain will naturally fall on top of the pom pom trim. Center the pom pom and chain portion. You’ll need to attach this portion to the cord to prevent it from sliding. Add another jump ring to the first link of the chain and pierce it through the cord. Do the same with the last link.
Your new pom pom necklace is finished!!
Experiment by adding more chain, attaching different sized jump rings or using a variety of colored cord! Have fun!

You’ll need:

Print the downloadable pattern here. Feel free to scale the image before printing (we printed it in actual size for this tutorial). Carefully cut out the pattern with a pair of small sharp scissors. Cut out the inside shapes.
Tape the pattern to the backside of the vinyl leather using double sided tape. Make sure no tape is exposed. With a thick permanent marker, paint around the outside edges of the pattern. Work from the inside out for nice clean marks and fill in the inside shapes.
Let the markings dry and remove the paper from the vinyl to reveal a new pattern. Carefully cut out the pattern to create the pendant part of the necklace.
Using the smallest setting on the leather rotary tool, punch out 19 evenly distributed holes along the bottom of the pendant.
Punch two larger holes on the top, outermost parts of the pendant. Hook on 19 pieces of small chain to 19 open jump rings.
Using pliers, attach the pieces chain along the bottom holes of the pendant. Attach the long thicker chain to the top two holes.
Your Sachin + Babi inspired Rorschach necklace is finished!

You’ll need:

Start by separating the jump rings into two halves: 175 open and 175 closed.
Thread three closed jump rings onto an open jump ring. Close the ring. Spread the three rings apart, with the rings looking exactly as shown below. The bottom ring will be the end of the necklace and the top two rings, which are spread open over the middle ring, will be where the chain mail begins.
Keeping the rings in place with your forefinger and thumb, take an open jump ring and hook it through the front side of the two rings.
Add 2 closed rings to the open ring and close.
Spread the two rings apart in the same way as the first set of rings. Take another open jump ring and hook it through the front side of the top two closed rings.
Add 2 closed rings and close. Continue the same steps until you’ve reached the desired length.
To add an optional fourth row, lay the necklace flat and hook an open ring through first and second closed rings on the right side. Close the ring. Add another open ring through the second and third ring. Close. Add another through the third and fourth ring and so on. Can you notice a pattern forming?
I stopped at 4 rows but you can continue adding rows for a more bib-like necklace.
Connect the two ends with a single jump ring or clasp.
Fini!

For a fuller and longer frill, print the pattern as it is on 11″ x 17″ paper at 100%. For a smaller frill, reduce the size of the pattern and print on normal 8.5″ x 11″ paper. Carefully cut out the volute-shaped pattern, stack, and pin onto the two pieces of stacked felt. Using the pattern as a guide, cut out the felt. While keeping the two pieces of felt stacked, pull the two pointed ends taut. A ruffle will be created on one side and a straight line on the other. (Click images to enlarge)
Sew the felt together along the straight side, with a 1/4″ inseam, down to the end. Trim any extra threads. Open the frill. Spread the seam apart on the backside and press it open using the tip of a hot iron.
Run a zig zag stitch down the center of the front side of the frill. This will keep the back seam open and flat, giving the frill structure and shape. Glue or sew buttons along the front stitch. Flip the frill over and glue or sew a pin back at the top and another at the bottom.
Your Fendi-inspired frill is finito!
Pin the frill to any blouse, shirt or dress. Make it smaller, make it larger, add less buttons, add more buttons . . . make it to your liking and have fun!

Start by adding a small amount of liquid super glue to one end of the comb. Place a metal spike on top of the glue and hold it in place for at least 30 seconds. Let it dry completely before letting go.
Glue another spike to the other end of the comb. Then, using a ruler, place the rest of the spikes along the length of the comb to make sure there is enough spacing between each spike.
Continue glueing each spike, alternating from one side to another.
Stick the spiked comb in a bed of teased and tousled hair!
