In yet another chapter of writing my fashion wishes into existence...Atelier Mayer and Qatari brand Toujouri whom I featured in Culture to Catwalk, upon seeing their UAE entry, asked me to model their kaftans for a special issue of Atelier Mayer's magazine in conjunction with Vanity Fair. Here's a selection of the images with pictures from the launch party of the issue in Doha (which I sadly had to miss) coming soon!

I previously posted about the amazing Alaa Balkhy‘s illustrations. She’s taking it one step further by creating Fyunka (Arabic of bow – how cute is that word?), a tote line featuring her illustrations of translated quotes from popular culture.
Totes are amazing because they can fit ALL of your stuff, especially for college, I always have a tote bag on me to carry my laptop, books and school supplies. Fyunka makes practicality UBER CUTE!

Alaa Balkhy I came across this uber creative Saudi illustrator, Alaa Balkhy and I absolutely loved her designs! I love how she incorporates famous quotes into her work but with a twist.

This is a quote that has been said by Carrie Bradshaw, the star of SATC series and films. “I like my money right where I can see it .. Hanging in my closet,” – GENIUS! (This is currently my desktop’s wallpaper!)
Alaa also illustrates satirical designs to criticize Khaleeji phenomenas, which I found absolutely hilarious and oh-so-very true!

I love a classic monogram backed with a super modern trellis or chevron pattern for pillows, platters & cosmetics cases. Blogger Blair Eadie can rock them like no one's business. The personalized touch is a nod to classic Americana (think 1950's monogrammed cashmere sweaters) and a modern day preppy look.





I love that they're actually starting to trend lately, think of it as a new take on Carrie Bradshaw's nameplate necklace. Would you sport your monogram?

Murakami’s signature smiling flowers were everywhere! On the artist's painting and sculptures. And event on the entrance's rugs and curtains. A Sight for sore eyes!
