1. This piece is from the Contraste collection. Coco believed there was nothing like the ‘easy beauty’ of white pearls on a black dressNecklace, CHANEL Jewelry
2. This breathtaking chandelier by French artist François Pascal hangs in the middle of the store. It’s use of crystals is a nod to Coco Chanel and its importance to her. Remember the custom, crystal chandelier in Coco’s apartment? When Peter Marino renovated the store in 1997, the goal was for the interior to be a reflection of Coco’s apartment at 31 Rue Cambon.

3. The Contraste collection is a new take on combinations. But we modernize all this and create really new, daring pieces. The general theme is the contrast between colours (dark and light), materials (shiny and matte stones) and designs (size of the stones).Ring, CHANEL Jewellery

4. Coco believed in liberating women. She loved to break-up matching sets and wanted women to wear their jewelry in their hair and down their backs.Necklaces, CHANEL Jewelry

5. In true Coco form, we would wear this necklace backwards and have the bow dripping down our backs.Necklace, CHANEL Jewelry

6. Gabrielle Chanel thought a black dress and pearls were the perfect outfit. The pearls, as she described them, lit up women’s faces and gave them an easy sense of beauty.Necklace, CHANEL Jewelry

7. These pieces are from the Camellia Brode collection. From Coco’s apartment to current collections, we love how the Camellia is still present throughout CHANEL.Rings, CHANEL Jewelry

8. Coco always wanted to bring to women a sensation that they were free to wear their jewelry whenever they want, which was very daring at the time. She had two different types of jewelry: day jewelry and night jewelry. She was basically saying, ‘It is absolutely normal to wear diamonds in daylight. It is not reserved for the evening.’Bracelet, CHANEL Jewelry

9. White gold and diamonds. We could get used to this…Jewelry, CHANEL Jewelry

10. This is a J12 29mm, which is the latest diameter launched. This time, it is entirely set with round cut diamonds. It keeps the classic codes of the J12, but it becomes a real jewelry watch. Editors Note: Shout out to our boy Jay-Z!Watch, CHANEL Jewelry

11. The very first watch that was made by CHANEL was the ‘Premiere.’ It is a nod to Place Vendôme, as it has the same octagonal shape, which is also the shape of the top of the CHANEL No.5 Fragrance.Watch, CHANEL

13. One of the main pieces of the Contraste collection is the brooch. Here, you can really see the contrasts between the opaque and the very shiny, between the different stones and the contrast of materials. It is one of the masterpieces.Brooch, CHANEL Jewelry

14. These earrings remind us of the crystal chandelier we saw in Coco’s apartment.Earrings, CHANEL Jewelry

15. CHANEL always tried to have the back of the piece be as beautiful as the front because that’s how you enlighten each stone. It is also for the owner to see and know, which echoes Coco’s philosophy about luxury being hidden on the inside.Bracelet, CHANEL Jewelry

16. The “Triple Row”.

17. Note the golden wheat from Coco’s apartment? These earrings have it all. They incorporate the floral motif, contrasting cuts and sets of diamonds and, of course, the pearl.Earrings, CHANEL Jewelry

18. You can wear this watch as a bracelet. It’s on black satin and when you open it up you have a watch. It is discreet, but functional and what Gabrielle Chanel intended to do. You also have the unfolding buckle, just like the J12s. It’s very easy to wear but at the same time very sophisticated and very feminine.Watch, CHANEL Jewelry

19. This is an interesting piece. It’s one long strand of white gold, pearls and black diamonds with white diamonds on the side. It’s just like Madamoiselle Chanel liked her jewels to be: transformable. You can wear it as a necklace two times around (close around your neck or as a longer piece), you can wear it as a bracelet or even a belt on a black dress would be wonderful. It’s completely transformable. Very modern, no clasp and no structure that closes off the jewels.Necklace, CHANEL Jewelry
