In this quiz it is required to implement Multiple Access MACA protocol (Refer to figure 3.12 in Schiller). In your implementation you need to show the sequence of events the sender and receiver go through. Here is a list of parameters in your program:
(1) l: Rate of packets generation per sec
(2) P: Packet length in bytes
(3) R: RTS length in bytes
(4) C: CTS length in bytes
(5) N: NAK length in bytes
(6) A: ACK length in bytes
(7) TS: Sender timeout period in seconds
(8) TR: Receiver timeout period in seconds
(9) Error: Probability of error of any of the exchanged messages
)B: probability that the server is busy
{These parameters are averages. Working using a stochastic model with exponential distribution/Poisson is a bonus that can add 5% to your score}
After you complete your program and test it, you need to measure the effect of the previous input parameters on the performance. Perform several tests to see the effect of each parameter independently of other parameters on X and D. The following performance parameters are considered:
(1) System throughput (X): Number of packets successfully delivered per second
(2) Packet delay (D): Average packet delay before successful transmission
Format of the report:
(1) Abstract
(2) Introduction
(3) De******ion of implementation
(4) Performance analysis with graphs for X and D versus different parameters
(5) Analysis of results
(6) Conclusions
(7) Sample runs that shows the clock and the event
(8) Softcopy of the code and report {do not print the code}
Notes:
(1) It is allowed that two students work as a team
(2) This quiz will carry extra weight for stochastic simulation
(3) You will do a demo for your program and need to show sample runs on the due date
(4) Your report should have a cover page that has the names of one or two students who worked on the project. Each student is responsible to submit the report under assignments in Blackboard.
(5) No late assignment will be accepted.
